It has been an exciting time for our plant launch and manufacturing teams over the last two weeks, as we began the Production Validation Build (PVB) for the new 24 Model Year (MY) Evoque.
The PVB is the final phase of the launch programme, before we start mass production of the new cars, and allows us to test the tools we will use to build them.
So far, 11 of the new 24 MY cars have completed their way through Trim and Final, with another 11 scheduled for the line next week.
Richard Chambers, Launch Manager at Halewood, said: "There has been a lot of hard work from all launch and production teams. We have trained 480 people as part of this new model launch and were pleased with how smooth the PVB went and with how the car looks.
" A total of 230 new parts have been released for this new model, and it has a more modern luxury feel and interior, as we have seen with the launch of the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.”
Richard explained how this is an exciting and busy time for the launch team, and new roles for product coaches will be announced in the coming weeks.
He added: “The product coach roles are a fantastic development opportunity for our employees. Successful candidates will support the introduction of new vehicles like this and will be at the beginning of our electrification journey as we move forward with the introduction of Electrical Modular Architecture (EMA) at Halewood.”
