A huge congratulations to Michelle Bibb who has raised over £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the ‘Brave the Shave’ campaign.
To maximise her fundraising efforts she even boldly agreed to put on a show of shaving her hair off during a busy lunchtime in R block.
A large crowd of well-wishers gathered to witness the shearing and the nerves suddenly began to kick in.
Though Michelle herself remained calm under the circumstances, it was actually her friend and recently appointed hairdresser, D Block’s Kaleigh Moore, whose hands were visibly shaking as her newly PAT-tested clippers began to whir into action.
“I honestly don’t know who was the most nervous out of both of us,” said Kaleigh. “But I can definitely tell you
just how proud I am of her, she won’t be buying a drink this evening that’s for sure.”
Michelle (who was still coming to grips with her new do as we spoke) was over the moon and buoyed by
the generosity and support her friends and Castle Brom colleagues had shown her.
“I can’t thank everyone enough,” she said. “I’m donating the hair to the Little Princess Trust to be made into wigs for children undergoing treatment and it’ll be going in the post this afternoon. I’m chuffed to have raised such a large amount for Macmillan too.”
