Plant Launch administrator Sharon Lane passed on her thanks to JLR’s new employee discounts platform for helping her wage war on the high street whilst shopping for her daughter’s school uniform.
With the help of her JLR discounts she managed to push her high street savings to nearly 30 per cent whilst updating her daughter’s wardrobe ahead of the new school year so if ever there was a volunteer to wave the flag for JLR’s Employee Discounts scheme then Sharon would be that person.
Since the new employee discounts platform was launched a few months ago Sharon, who’s been at Castle Bromwich for 18 years, has become an expert navigator of the wide range of discounts on offer and said she’d be happy to share her experiences if it helpes others take advantage of the same great offers.
Since the launch of the new Rec-Ignition platform, the mum-of-one has enjoyed loads of days out, saved chunks of money on her shopping and has even used the scheme to start a discounted savings pot for her Christmas gifts and goodies.
She said: “It’s amazing to be honest. I think when it was first launched it took a little bit of getting used to, like with anything, but now I use it all the time and I encourage the people that I work with to do the same.
“I took advantage of the school uniform sales and ordered a card with £70 on it for Marks & Spencer which only cost me £63 because of the ten per cent discount. You add that to the discount in store and I got nearly 30 per cent off. I ordered the card through the website and it came the next day.
“It really is easy to use once you’ve done it and it’s even easier when you download the app on your smartphone.
“We wanted to go to the cinema recently at short notice so I downloaded the vouchers and saved £15 straight away and Alton Towers is next on the list so I can’t advocate it enough, it’s amazing.”
The new platform, unlike previous platforms, is open to visit outside of work simply by downloading the ‘SmartSpending’ app to your smartphone where you can take advantage of savings on the go.
