Castle Bromwich's TIC Coordinator Ian Caulfield reflects on our local convention...
After six months of hard work by all of our TIC teams it was fantastic to see all of that put on display at our third Castle Bromwich TIC Convention.
TIC’s time to date at CB really got me thinking about what benefits the programme has brought to the plant and all the improvement ideas that have come with it.
There have been some excellent benefits realised that have improved what we do here. However, for me whilst important, the real benefits are shown in the long term through our people.
TIC really does enable them to shine.
Being a team player has been for many years a skill which has been widely recognised but not always fully appreciated. Working together with your mates on an improvement you feel passionate about subconsciously
draws your team closer together and starts to highlight the individual’s talents within that team.
There are many examples of people from across the plant who I’ve seen join a circle who’ve developed and matured as a team player. The TIC experience has a way of enhancing people’s existing skills as well as unearthing others.
My satisfaction in the role I do is seeing people mature and progress into new roles, TIC can certainly help you to do this. For our business to grow we shouldn’t have to go searching for Skilled Technicians, Engineers and Managers when we already have them working here.
And TIC every year is helping to unearth them.
TIC has a fabulous and exciting future being part of the JLR journey and contributing to its success will not only give me great pleasure but will highlight the potential what a powerful skill teamwork is.
