The team at Castle Bromwich have been showing unity with local charities.
Huge thanks to everyone who donated items to our appeals in aid of three charities that support members of the local community. Your generosity meant that members of our senior leadership team were able to deliver a fantastic 10 car-loads of items to three local charities on Friday, including:
340kg of non-perishable food & toiletries for the Kingfisher Foodbank, part of the Trussell Trust network
Pre-loved clothing, in support of a campaign across Jaguar Land Rover's sites in Birmingham for homeless charity SIFA Fireside
Children’s toys, in support of Birmingham City Mission’s ToyLink appeal
Whilst dropping of the items at the foodbank, the team discovered that the volunteers were struggling to transport items to their warehouse. So, we were only too happy to be able to help them out with a van a driver to lend a hand for the afternoon. CB's Ronnie Rushton and Ian Dhillon also supported them by volunteering to be part of a big food collection at Tesco in Hodge Hill.
Foodbank Project Manager, Andrea, said, "Our foodbank was overwhelmed with your generosity. Thank you for supporting us by providing volunteers at our Tesco collection. It was a pleasure meeting and working with Ian and Ronnie. We have received your donation of food weighing over 340 Kgs. When the donation was dropped off, they came to our aid with an offer of a van and transporting some of the donation to our warehouse in Castle Vale. I just wanted to pass on my gratitude - our volunteers use their own cars to transport food as we do not have our own vehicle, so this help was invaluable."
