We start this month’s Charlie’s Chat with the sad news that our little friend Amber Price has sadly passed away.
Amber had been having treatment (partly funded by Charlies Chance Foundation) over in Germany and had looked to be winning her battle when the family got the horrendous news that the treatment was no longer working. Sadly, this meant the cancer had returned. Unfortunately, Amber passed away over the Easter period. Our thoughts are very much with Amber`s family and friends at this sad time.
Due to Amber`s sad passing we all took some time off over the Easter period to spend some much needed time off with our own families and recharge the batteries ready for the last couple of months of our COTY campaign in Halewood.
We have lots of upcoming events for people to get involved in. There is the annual Halewood open on Sunday 19 May at Childwall golf club and there’s still time to swing into action as we have a small number of places left!
Andrew Cunningham is organising a Welsh3peaks challenge on Saturday 15 June and is looking for people to join him on this fantastic trek, for more information please email: andrewlfc17@gmail.com.
James Platt is making his debut as a pro boxer on Friday 31 May at Knowsley leisure centre and Jay, also known as the Prescot Paddler from a previous challenge will be wearing Charlies Chance shorts as he looks to win his first ever professional fight. Best of luck James!
I`ll end this month by wishing Andrew Rogerson aka Cycling Scouser the very best of luck on his return to America to complete his coast to coast challenge.
For details of any of the above events please contact any of the COTY committee or email charlieschancefundraising@gmail.com.
