Jaguar is celebrating 70 years of making sports cars by launching a special edition F-TYPE.
The Chequered Flag Edition coupé and convertible pay tribute
to Jaguar’s rich sports car heritage which has seen more than 170 global awards
won throughout that time, since the XK 120 was revealed in 1948.
It was considered the perfect way to acknowledge the anniversary. Based on the R-Dynamic models, this F-TYPE has been enhanced to be
even more driver focused.
Jaguar’s Director of Design, Ian Callum, said that every
Jaguar must have perfect proportions, design purity and visual drama. He adds:
“In creating the Chequered Flag we’ve focused on the details
which enhance the F-TYPE’s presence and promise of performance – and in doing
so, made a fitting celebration of 70 years of beautiful, fast, Jaguar sports
cars.”
Available with either a four-cylinder or V6 engine, the
F-TYPE has been adorned with the exterior black design pack, a set of unique
20-inch, diamond turned, gloss black alloy wheels, a handstitched ebony leather
interior with contrast stitching and lots of subtle Chequered Flag branding.
To recognise Jaguar’s motorsport success, the F-TYPE comes
with dark brushed aluminium dashboard trim and a red leather band to mark the
centre of the steering wheel.
