Yesterday marked the start of Lunar New Year – the Year of the Rabbit - and to celebrate, Halewood Inclusion Council has decorated areas across the factory, and they also have some surprises up their sleeves for our employees this week.
Monday 23 January: Red Envelope charity appeal
In line with Chinese tradition, Halewood Inclusion Council will once again be running its Red Envelope Appeal. The team will be handing out red envelopes to employees who can put in a donation to help support a local charity.
The custom of handing out red envelopes during Chinese New Year is a way of sending good luck wishes and Chinese people regard the colour red as a symbol of happiness and good fortune.
This year, Halewood Inclusion Council will be using its Red Envelope Appeal to raise money for the Chinese Wellbeing society. This is a local charity which works to promote and improve the wellbeing of older people in Liverpool’s Chinese community, helping them to live independently in their homes as long as possible.
