Colleagues in Slovakia give the New Defender a warm welcome

Colleagues in Slovakia celebrated the global reveal of the New Land Rover Defender in Frankfurt with a special ceremony this week.

Almost 300 associates at the Nitra manufacturing plant watched as the 4x4 arrived in style.

Following the reveal Operations Director Russell Leslie, with the help of a few associates, unveiled the new vehicle to an expectant audience. This gave the group, including 30 journalists, the chance to see the reimagined icon up close.

The occasion was a momentous one for the plant, as it marked the return of a much loved icon, but also a new era with the vehicle being built in Slovakia for the first time. 

Ahead of the launch in Frankfurt, anticipation was built up as colleagues got the chance to be immersed into Land Rover and Defender’s rich heritage with a series of films. One hundred lucky winners also got a sneak preview of the new vehicle ahead of its world premiere.
