Our cycling scouser made it safely across the pond and is well on his way but it didn’t start well after arriving at the bike shop where his bike was stored and finding that the rear wheel of the bike wasn’t there and had gone walk about! He had to order a new wheel which meant a two hour delay before he could get on his bike.
Rogo then managed to cycle a massive, unplanned 102 miles the rest of that day, riding an extra 30 miles more than planned to get some affordable accommodation.
The terrain went from mountains to flat during the course of the day and there was an added bonus of a tail wind. The flat desolate conditions meant that there was little shelter from the sun and unfortunately for our bearded hero, he forgot to apply suncream at the start!
Eleven hours in the saddle and no one whatsoever to speak to until he finally got to a motel. He was rewarded for this massive effort with a shower that had broken!
The following day Rogo cycled another 70 miles from Cut Bank to Chester (not the one near Wales). It was a bit of a mundane day but Rogo did get some lovely messages with Ed at The Five star car wash in Liverpool offering to pay his hotel bill if he can find a luxury hotel. Ed has been a big supporter of Rogo and Charlie's Chance Foundation for a long time.
Keep going Rogo, you’re doing a fantastic job and we’re all behind you. To make a donation please visit:
