First students put Xiamen’s Land Rover All Terrain Academy to the test

Land Rover China’s Xiamen All Terrain Academy opened its doors to customers for the first time last week.

In the blistering 40 degree heat, the first attendees of this advanced driving school got to grips with a variety of theory and off-road challenges. 

Before getting behind the wheel, participants received an advanced theory class to gain an in-depth understanding about how Land Rover’s All Terrain Response System (ATRS) works and how to use it.

It was followed by a stint behind the wheel of either a Discovery or Discovery Sport as they tested the complex system in a real-world environment, including taking on rough terrain, extreme side slopes and wading.

The ambition of the academy is to give owners the knowledge and confidence to drive their vehicle off-road, and even venture on one of Land Rover China’s ‘Never Stop Discovering’ tours.
