Germany’s Federal Police get serious with their Discoverys

Germany’s Federal Police force took delivery of their new Land Rover Discovery response vehicles during an orientation session.
The 40 specially converted vehicles, which will be distributed throughout the country, were put through their paces by officers before being used in day-to-day service.
Testing the 240bhp SD4 diesel Discoverys off-road, the officers took instruction from Wülfrath’s Land Rover Experience instructors as they took on the centre’s dry river bed, cross axle passages and steep inclines and descents.
This is the first batch of vehicles to be commissioned by Germany’s Federal Police, with a second group of Discoverys joining the fleet in March. Each vehicle has been modified to include a Warn Zeon 8 CE winch, ARB vehicle recovery kit, a parking heater and additional underfloor protection.
