Our employees took the ground by force last week as they came out with spades to help mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.
Sunday 6 February marked the anniversary of the date the Queen started her reign, in 1952, although the official celebrations take place this June.
Employees planted 70 trees on site, one to mark each year of her reign- which will form part of a spectacular on-site orchard and sustainable eco-system.
Trim and Final Technology Manager, Ian Holohan who has overseen the project said: “Jaguar Land Rover is a proud Royal Warrant Holder with a long-established connection with the Royal Family. That’s why we wanted to do something special to mark this memorable moment in history, which can be enjoyed by our employees as a space of reflection and well-being for many years to come.
“The day was fantastic, and we had volunteers join us from every corner of the factory, coming together as one Halewood team and there was nothing but smiles on their faces!
Ian added: “This is my 27th year at this site and I met people I have never seen before. That’s what this project is all about, building a strong sense of community amongst all those different teams and individuals taking part and a sense of pride for all employees in coming to work.”
