Earlier this month, the plant hosted the Halewood Employees’ Charity Fund Dinner Dance at the Crowne Plaza in Liverpool city centre to raise money for local good causes.
The event, which was supported by 300 employees, suppliers and guests included an auction, raffle and live entertainment. The evening raised £14,000 which will be donated to local charities nominated by employees.
Kevin Wood, Technology Manager, Body Construction, said: “A massive thank you to all suppliers and contractors who supported us again this year. Since our last dinner, we’ve made donations to 63 local charities and community groups including Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, Wigan and Leigh Deaf Children Society, Halton Carers and L6 Community Association. Since the Employees’ Charity Fund was established nine years ago, we’ve donated over £210,000 thanks to your generosity.”
Well done to Ken Wheeler, Joanne Martin, Mel Wildman and Kate Birkenhead from the Charity Fund Committee who organised this event.
To apply for funding, please email details about your nominated charity, why you are nominating them and how the donation will be used to Joanne Martin - jmart782@jaguarlandrover.com.
