Welcome to the penultimate installment of the Halewood Excellence Awards’ Winner’s Gallery.
Over the next two weeks, we will showcase the remaining pictures of our 2020 winners.
The Halewood Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals and teams across our business, who have made a real difference to life at Halewood.
With 16 categories and a record-breaking 812 nominations, we certainly put our judges to the test this year and here are four more fabulous winners who thoroughly deserve a shout out!
Spirit of Halewood
And the winner is: Neil Plews
Nominated by: Chris Morris and Mike Hughes
And here’s why…
“Neil continually demonstrates ingenuity and attention to detail in a wide range of tasks in his role as a Kaizen specialist but he’s also blown most people away with his incredible charity work.
“He does this all in his own time and manages to get so many people on board with his fundraising which is why he truly embodies the spirit of Halewood in so many people’s eyes.”
Customer First Team:
And the winner is: Frederick Christie, Gregory Formby and Philip Shone
Nominated by: Simon Dutton
And here’s why…
“Following the success of their work in the Underbody area (targeting the volume losses on the installed equipment) the team implemented the same methods across the whole body plant to target constraints.
“Phil Shone took on the responsibility of the Body sides for both L551 and L550 programmes and Fred Christie took charge of Framing and the closure line feed. Greg had been working on underbody losses since the start of the TT build phase, so was well established with the processes already.
“The team produced an improvement in throughput from around 30jph in framing to just under 37. Their next target is to reach 41jph in the closure feed area- well done guys!”
Personalised Award
And the winner is…. David Bell
Nominated by: Paul Doyle, Thomas Cotterill, Tony Paes and Tim Preston
And here’s why…
“Dave is passionate about making our cars easier to build and more reliable. In his own time, he benchmarks our competitors and regularly shares these ideas and best practice with the team.
“He is always keen to help our design teams understand design for assembly and reducing cost per unit and has coached hundreds of Off Track personnel and Design Engineers.
“Dave has also created a brilliant Design for Assembly (DFA) training course which he has delivered to the PHEV Engineering launch team. Developing strong business relationships with our design teams is exactly what Manufacturing needs to do more of and Dave is leading the charge with this.”
Transparent Award
And the winner is: Pradipta Banerjee
Nominated by: Rachel Cook
And here’s why…
“Pradipta provides excellent support to me in his role as Finance Manager. He works closely to ensure we are meeting plant cost objectives and that we are setting clear commitments across the plant.
“Given the changing nature of what we deal with, we often have to face situations where we have conflicting approaches and priorities, however, Pradipta always goes above and beyond to ensure that our working relationship is effective and that we are aligned in our messaging to the customer.
“Pradipta is excellent at his role and he works tirelessly to ensure Halewood is delivering against its cost objectives whilst balancing the changing nature of the manufacturing environment.
