Twenty four teams took a step out of their comfort zones to share their trailblazing ideas to make Halewood a better place to work, at their local Team Improvement Circle convention last weekend.
The audience and judges weren’t disappointed as team after team stepped up and took their moment in the spotlight to share their lightbulb moments.
Steph Stephenson, Head of HR at Halewood, who was also on judging duty, said: “I know that the teams are nervous sharing their ideas and the presentations can seem quite daunting, but I love seeing people step out of their comfort zones. I see it as such a great sense of personal achievement when they finish.
“I always come to TIC with high expectations as I know what our people are capable of and I’m never disappointed. This year we’ve had some amazing teams working hard to make improvements that we can all benefit from, it really is a fantastic experience for all of us.”
After some tough deliberations, the judges finally reached a decision as eight teams made it through to the Regional Convention.
Kim Challis from winning team ‘Click & Collect’, said: “It was good to finally showcase all our hard work and it paid off because we’re through to the next stage.
“Everyone is so encouraging and helpful, it’s like everyone there is on your side willing you to do well. If you’re thinking of taking part I would definitely recommend it. It’s great to see and speak with associates from all across the plant, and it is a great platform to improve your skill sets. We all had a laugh and felt like winners on the day. Regionals here we come."
