A massive congratulations to Halewood T&PPG, Shift 2, on AIDA Line 36, who hit a significant milestone on a record breaking shift recently!
Every time a Power Press cycles to form a panel it’s called a hit, previously the best performance (also held by this team) on this line is 6,700 hits in a single eight hour shift. This was a fantastic achievement considering the Policy Deployment target is 4,400! The team continued to challenge themselves though and earlier this month they did just that, achieving an amazing 7,028 hits in their eight hour shift. That’s an impressive average of 14.6 hits every minute.
It isn't easy to be this efficient as there are many factors that can affect the number of hits in a shift such as; different jobs run at different cycle rates, machine breakdowns, die repairs and panel quality to name just a few, but the team were motivated to beat their previous record and with hard work and determination that’s what they did.
Gary McNally, Production Leader, told us “To say I’m proud to be a part of the team’s success is an understatement. Positive record breaking performances like this can only help to strengthen the strong reputation of the Halewood Team, well done to everyone.”
