Across the plant, every week, many of you are coming up with crackin’ Kaizen ideas that really make a difference to how we work at Halewood. Without your forward thinking, creativity and knowledge, these changes wouldn’t be possible. We’re catching up with teams and individuals from across the plant, to find out more about their crackin’ Kaizens….
The Trim & Final OTA Mechsteam came up with a great money saving idea that allows us to make repairs to damaged exhaust hot ends. By tapping in the bullet shaped wedges they can gradually restore the hot end to its original shape which allows the muffler to be fitted and prevents the exhausts from being scrapped.
Congratulations to the ‘Three Mufflerteers’ for their incredible work!

Well done to Ryan Ward from Front Axles for his brilliant idea to stop bolts getting trapped in the skillets. Ryan proposed getting covers made to prevent debris getting trapped in the mechanism of the skillet and causing a two hour breakdown. After a successful trial on skillet 13 Ryan’s fantastic idea is being rolled out to all the skillets.

Chris Clarke, Business Improvements, put his T4 experience to good use when coming up with an idea to place guides on the front badge jig L551 to prevent the badges from being off centre. Chris’ great error proofing means we can only fit the jig on to the bonnet in the correct way and we are now protected from wonky badges.
