Last week our Cycling Scouser started his epic journey. He had a rocky start but is now well on his way!
We gave Andy a fond farewell from Halewood and sent him off to the airport for the adventure to begin, he made it safely across the ocean but his bike didn’t! After a tense few days of waiting the bike arrived just in time for him to start the challenge!
Whilst Andy was waiting for the bike to arrive he took the chance to visit the children’s hospital in Seattle where Charlie Fearns was treated in 2016 and where Charlie’s Chance was born, with Charlie as its inspiration.
Finally Andy was able to set off and had his first pit stop at Bellevue JLR for a lovely breakfast before the hard day ahead. It wasn’t long until Andy faced another problem when he started to struggle changing gear on his bike! After a quick fix he was on the saddle again!
So far Andy has done a lot of uphill riding, rode through bear country and faced some intense heat but he’s carrying on.
We’ll keep you updated on his progress. We’re all behind you Andy!
