We caught up with our winning TIC team Click & Collect made up of Kim Challis, Dave Ellison, Andy Stockton, Chris Wallace and Kev Kelly. They dazzled at the Regional Convention and are now gearing up for their trip to Slovakia.
Their project focussed on the Red Tag process which is a way for everyone across the plant to share equipment they no longer need. The process wasn’t working very well, as everything was done on paper and colleagues had to travel across the plant for equipment without really knowing what was there. Because of this the process was rarely used.
The Click and Collect team decided to make this process digital, creating an Office 365 live document which associates across the plant could use to upload pics of non-required items from their areas. Everyone could then view the document 'click' on a desired item and 'collect'.
This new process has so far saved £45,000 and counting which is really impressive. The team had a great time at the Regional Convention calling out the support of the other teams from Halewood which really drove them on. They were the last team on, so watched the other teams deliver their presentations which they said added a little pressure but also got them excited for their own presentation.
All the team have taken part in TIC before but this is the first time they had worked together as a team. They said taking part in TIC last year really gave them confidence and not winning made them determined to come back and do even better this year.
The team are already talking about their next TIC project, saying that the biggest obstacle for them this year was timing – so they will start everything much earlier this year!
They’d like to thank everyone who supported them in getting the project up and running and they can’t wait to represent Halewood in Slovakia! We hope they have a great time and we can’t wait to hear about their adventure when they return.
