Last week was #CycleToWorkDay and a team from Halewood took that challenge a step further with a 145 mile charity cycle calling at all our UK sites.
The team of 33 cyclists included a cross-functional group of 30 JLR Halewood-based employees (including Plant, AME, Purchasing, Engineering) as well as two Leadec colleagues and 1 DHL colleague. These MAMIL’s (Middle Aged Men In Lycra) were supported by a six strong support crew.
The challenge started at Gaydon, then visited Oxford Road, Whitley, Solihull, Castle Bromwich and the Engine Manufacturing Centre. The final leg of the journey was the longest. Our team cycled across the Runcorn Bridge and into Halewood, arriving shortly after 8pm.

This massive challenge was all in aid of Halewood’s charity of the year, Charlie’s Chance Foundation and is on target to raise £20,000. If you would like to support the cyclists visit their JustGiving page at: www.justgiving.com/companyteams/jlrcyclothon.
