We're very proud of our TIC teams here in Halewood and over the next few weeks as we lead up to the Regional Convention we'll be spending a bit of time with each of the eight teams that will be representing Halewood. Lets find out what makes them TIC(k)....
We used the company name Jaguar Land Rover but changed the Land to Sea as we are looking at trying to reduce the amount of plastic going into the ocean.
What is your project all about?
Our project is aimed at reducing the amount of plastic that goes to landfill in order to try and improve our JLR carbon footprint whilst also protecting the environment for future generations.
What’s the best thing about TIC?
As circle leader I am very passionate about the environment my drive is to recycle and work towards reducing plastic waste. I decided back in October to act and form a TIC team and together we looked at ways in which we could improve the company’s carbon footprint. The best thing about TIC is being able to see the changes we have made within our work areas. At the start of our TIC journey it was important for the team and I to get the associates and management involved in the recycling process, we found this involvement would be key to achieving our targets. The message from my team and I was clear we had to get the paint shop associates and management teams to understand the importance of recycling and the impact it has on the JLR carbon footprint and the important role we all play in protecting our environment.
If your circle was a famous team from a movie or TV series who would you be and why?
Our team would be based on The Justice League Team as they are superheroes that fight to protect the world against good and evil. We would look at our team not as superheroes but as a team of people that are trying to fight to engage and protect the environment for future generations to come.
