As we edge closer to our local TIC convention we will be asking our fasntasTIC circles some burning questions to find out a little more about them...
Tell us your team name and introduce your team members:

What made you take part in TIC?
After successfully completing a project overhauling a redundant system, a team of maintenance associates that we worked with, asked us to meet them near an old conveyor system and told us that they had come up with an idea to help keep the Closure Line supplied with cars.
We thought this project was perfect for TIC, as the team had identified a huge problem within the BIW and found a solution that could help prevent starving the Closure Line. TIC would give awareness and recognition for all the great work that the team have been doing.
How did you come up with your TIC idea?
As part of our job we are continuously searching of ways to improve the process and speed up the production lines. Ensuring the Closure Line is fed with a continuous supply of quality cars is our number one priority. If the Closure Line doesn’t have an uninterrupted flow of cars, we risk starving the Paint Shop and all of our other customers.
What’s been your biggest challenge so far?
The confined spaces that we have had to work in due to the landlocked area. Our cranes cannot access the area to assist with lifting, so we have had to use block and tackle, wooden sleds we fabricated to slide heavy equipment along the conveyor and good old fashioned elbow grease.
Is there anything your colleagues in Halewood can do to support your TIC project?
So far we have received all the support we need from our manager and colleagues. Any equipment and supplies have been quickly approved and delivered to the plant for our use. Soon we will need to liaise closely with our production colleagues as we will be working inside a line that will stop the normal production process.
