As we edge closer to our local TIC convention we will be asking our fantastic TIC circles some burning questions to find out a little more about them...
Tell us your team name and introduce your team members:
Stop Flapping!
Circle Leader : Ciaran Green, ME Paint Programmes Engineer
Circle Member : Steven Hughes, ME Paint Programmes Lead
Circle Member : Hannah Twigg, Paint Launch Product Coach
Objective : To reduce the number of production vehicles at the Paintshop Buy-Off without Fuel Filler Flaps.
What made you take part in TIC?
As a team, we have all got skills we felt TIC could help us work on and develop.
Coming together to improve personally and professionally, whilst contributing to an improvement project for Halewood plant, is something we are all looking forward to.
How did you come up with your TIC idea?
Working across two teams associated with New Model Launch, we have daily headaches and opportunities for improvement across build phases from Virtual Builds to MP1.
Our idea is one of those headaches that we have had on previous model launches, and in daily production, but have a chance to improve on our refreshed New Evoque & New Discovery Sport models.
What’s been your biggest challenge so far?
Losing a team member from production early on within the process was a big loss.
We have had to come together to re-evaluate and re-assign workstreams for the project, so that we could stay on track and push forward in our ongoing investigations.
Is there anything your colleagues in Halewood can do to support your TIC project?
All we can ask is for our colleagues within Paintshop production & CME to be supportive, and help where they can with any tasks that will help us drive an improvement into Halewood Paintshop.
We’ve had some great involvement from everyone so far, and hopefully this will continue throughout the remainder of the project!
