Halewood recently welcomed the final batch of young work experience students for this academic year.
We had a total of 16 young people all eager to learn about the world of work in a modern manufacturing environment. The students were teamed up in pairs and each pair spent the week in a different department of the factory, including: BIW, VCATs, Trim CME, PVT, Office, PVO Garage, MP&L, Trim BI, Paint.
All the students returned to the Education Centre at the end of the week, full of enthusiasm and praise for their mentors, and spent their last morning developing and presenting a PowerPoint slideshow about their experience. All the presentations were excellent – so congratulations and a big ‘well done!’ to each and every student.
We also received some fantastic feedback about the students from mentors and supervisors. Thank you to the mentoring teams (all volunteers) from each of the departments involved. Without the commitment and dedication of these mentors we wouldn’t be able to run the Work Experience programme.
