Jaguar Racing has announced the calendar for the second season of the I-PACE eTROPHY Championship which concludes with a double-header in London.
Once again the series will feature 10 races hosted across the world, with a double-header in Ad Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, opening the season on 22 and 23 November. The I-PACE eTROPHY will then travel to Mexico, Hong Kong, Italy, France, Germany and the USA.
As electric motor racing returns to London, the final weekend of the season will see the drivers battle it out in two races on the unique indoor and outdoor circuit around Docklands.
James Barclay, Jaguar Racing Team Director, said he is looking forward to season two of the I-PACE eTROPHY, adding:
“New for season two is the London double-header which is a fantastic opportunity to race the I-PACE eTROPHY twice in front of our home crowds.”
New for this campaign is the addition of ‘Attack Mode’, which will allow drivers to use a powerboost throughout the race, providing even more overtaking opportunities. After being successfully introduced into Formula E last season, the eTROPHY trialled the innovation during the final race weekend in New York.
James said: “We are excited to bring ‘Attack Mode’ to the series. It has been a big success in Formula E and I am sure it will also inject even more excitement into eTROPHY.”
It was a successful first year for the official support series to the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, where Jaguar Brazil Racing’s Sergio Jimenez and Saudi Racing’s Bandar Alesayi claimed the PRO and PRO-AM drivers’ titles respectively. And both will be looking to repeat the feat this year too.
