It’s not every day a superstar DJ comes to Solihull to watch their new Range Rover built. In this case, it’s that extra bit special when her dad, Paul Smith, who has worked at Solihull for the past 25 years came along to share the experience.
Once a local Birmingham DJ, now a rising star who plays sets from Ibiza to Glastonbury, the pair came in to view her new Range Rover SV Autobiography come together. Hannah and Paul met up with Solihull’s Lead Tour Host, Darrell Teaves and it didn’t take long to realise Jaguar Land Rover runs in the blood. Her father, Paul, has worked at JLR for 25 years, with the majority of that time being spent in production at Solihull. Now an AME Forward Planner in the Innovation Team based out of Gaydon, a strong love for our products has been instilled in Hannah from a young age. Hannah explained: “My dad would come home in some of the cars from work every now and then. I’ve always been a big fan growing up.”
Hannah currently drives a black Range Rover Evoque but the Range Rover Autobiography has always caught the apple of her eye. After a tour around Bodyshop One to see how the body is assembled, we find Hannah’s car in FA1, it’s a striking colour: Madagascan Orange.
Hannah’s dad knows FA1 inside and out and after a short walk around it doesn’t take long to spot the distinctive coloured Range Rover. It’s about to have the dashboard and centre console installed. It’s an understandably proud moment for Paul as Hannah gets offered the chance to help assist putting in the dash. Gleaming with excitement Hannah didn’t hesitate.
With Hannah busy taking in the moment, Paul explains that big plans are afoot for the Range Rover. “It’s destined to be her transport for her new UK Tour which starts at the beginning of March.” I don’t think you can find many tour buses out there with quite the same ring to it as a Range Rover.
After seeing the orange Range Rover disappear further into FA1 to continue its build, Hannah and Paul are left with beaming smiles. Summing up the visit whilst getting back into the Land Rover Experience Range Rover, Hannah comments: “It’s the best four by four by far.”
