A huge thank you to Grace Church Halewood, which has gifted our employees with a beautiful wooden nativity scene, that has been placed in the main foyer area, for everyone to enjoy in the build up to Christmas.
The donation has been organised through Eddie Boyes, Material Flow Manager in MP&L, who is a member of the Halewood Diversity and Inclusion Council and is hoping to build up a new Christian Network at Halewood.
Eddie, who has been part of the Grace Church family for more than 12 years, said: “With my new role on the council, the Church and I thought it would be fitting to do something special to support the site that will help to put Christmas on the map at Halewood and can be used to mark Christmas here for many years to come.” “The nativity story is a huge celebration as it represents Jesus’ arrival on earth and whether you are a Christian or not, we wanted to remind employees about this journey so they can share in all the joy that it brings.”
Eddie added: “It also gives us a platform to remind employees that there is a Christian community here if they need us and our hopes for the network is bring people together in their shared faith, to pray for the needs of individuals and the business, and to bless and prosper Jaguar Land Rover.”
Eddie, along with fellow network members and Halewood employees, Samuel Abdullahi, Babatunde Ogunbiyi and Kofi Kyei, are also hoping to host a special Christmas Carol and Bible reading service for employees. This will take place on Friday 17 December at 11am, in the main foyer area and will be attended by members from the Grace Church congregation.
Eddie said: “If all goes to plan, we will be here on 17 December, but will be keeping a close eye on any changes to the current covid guidance on site as the safety of our employees comes first.” More communications will follow in the coming weeks to confirm if the Christmas Carol Service will be taking place on 17 December, so please watch this space for updates.
The Halewood Christian Network will meet every other Wednesday starting from Wednesday 15th December. The meetings will take place in the Pic Room, on the ground floor of the Admin Building, between 12:00 - 12:30 and everyone is welcome.
