Company Quality has introduced a ‘Retailer Quality Day’ initiative created to increase transparency and to continue to build upon the relationship between Jaguar Land Rover and our Global Retailer Network. In addition, the initiative provides a unique opportunity for direct discussions regarding the key actions being taken to improve launch quality as our portfolio of products continues to grow.
The first Retailer Quality Day was held in early 2017 for the ‘All-New Discovery’ with attendees from the North American and UK Retailer Networks. This was repeated in summer 2017 for the Range Rover Velar with representatives from the UK, European, Overseas and North American Retailer Networks attending.
The third round of Retailer Quality Days, this time for the Jaguar E-Pace, has just concluded. Representatives from the UK, European, Overseas and North American Retailer Networks were hosted by Quality Assurance Director Sergio Brito at the Magna Steyr Plant in Graz, where the Jaguar E-PACE will be built.
“These Quality Days are a great opportunity to strengthen the relationship between our Retailers, National Sales Companies and our Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality areas. Everything is around the customer. Being honest is the key moto, by sharing and discussing the challenges we face, and the actions being taken, we build a stronger, united team to succeed in the market…” Sergio Brito, Quality Assurance Director.
The agenda for the day included an explanation regarding the collaborative partnership between Jaguar Land Rover and Magna Steyr and how this will support vehicle quality going forward. Members of the E-Pace Engineering, Launch and Quality teams presented summaries of their respective actions to ensure quality and integrity is maintained throughout the launch phase and into full mass production. Retailers were also invited to inspect vehicles statically and dynamically.
Overall, the Quality Days’ have received very positive feedback from the attending Retailers, who appreciated the opportunity to openly discuss quality topics directly with the Jaguar Land Rover team.

Plans are now in progress for the next round of Retailer Quality Days focusing on the launch quality of the new Jaguar I-Pace.
