The Jaguar I-PACE has claimed a hat-trick of UK tech awards in 2018 by being named ‘Best Car’ by Stuff Magazine.
Having collected accolades from T3 and Pocket-lint, Jaguar’s first all-electric SUV took a clean sweep as the judging panel commended its desirability, driving dynamics, capability and interior, as the I-PACE beat the likes of BMW i8 Roadster, Audi Q8, Volkswagen Touareg and Alpine A110 to the accolade.
“With Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo announcing all-electric SUVs, Jaguar has competition to come, but for now it’s the first to give Tesla’s Silicon Valley whiz kids something to worry about,” said Stuff’s automotive writer Leon Poultney. “And we love the fact Coventry couldn’t be further away from San Francisco if it tried.”
Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director Rawdon Glover said the response the I-PACE has received has been overwhelming, with the electric Jaguar claiming nearly 25 global awards since its launch in March 2018.
“Thank you to the team at Stuff for this award,” he added. “It’s the latest in a long line of accolades that really validates the years of hard work, from thousands of passionate employees, that went into creating the car.”
