The Jaguar I-PACE eTrophy will make its first public appearance at the Formula E race weekend in Berlin.
The new race car will be complete a demonstration lap around
the Tempelhof circuit on 19 May, as Jaguar Racing promotes the new series ahead
of its official debut during season five of the ABB Formula E Championship.
Having carried out numerous successful development tests
alongside Special Vehicle Operations to refine the performance, chassis set-up,
energy management and aerodynamics of the I-PACE-based race car, but this will
be the first public shakedown of the vehicle.
Panasonic Jaguar Racing Team Director, James Barclay said
the team is excited to reveal the new I-PACE eTrophy race car and demonstrate
its dynamic capability for the first time, adding:
“We are really happy with the way the championship is
progressing, and we are attracting more interest from teams around the world
who want to be involved in this pioneering championship.
“The team at Jaguar Racing and SVO are building the key
foundations for the incredibly exciting championship and we are pleased with
the progress of our test and development programme, which has also included a
successful tyre test with our partner Michelin.”
James also went onto to welcome new technical operations
partner M-Sport to the eTrophy fold, with its race technology division MS-RT
providing on-track engineering, technical resource and ‘Arrive and Drive’
