Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY race series to start in Saudi Arabia
Jaguar Land Rover
Saudi Arabia will host the inaugural round of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY championship in its debut season.
The race at the Ad Diriyah circuit on 15 December will be the
first of ten rounds as the production electric race car series precedes each
Formula E race throughout the 2018-19 season and beyond.
Each race will last 25 minutes plus one lap, and will
include a practice and qualifying sessions.
Marion Barnaby, Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY Championship Manager,
said seeing the eTROPHY cars line up on the grid will be a proud and historic
moment for Jaguar. She added:
“As we travel to some of the world’s most exciting cities
we’ll be bringing a new kind of electric street racing to the public and inspiring
the next generation of electric vehicle owners.”
The race calendar for the I-PACE eTROPHY starts in Saudi
Arabia and will head to Mexico, Hong Kong and China before heading to Europe
with races in Italy, France, Monaco and Germany, with the season concluding
with a double header in New York.
Later this month will see the teams competing in the series
collect their cars and take part in the first official pre-season tests at
