Jaguar Land Rover was awarded a place on the Crown Commercial Service Framework (CCS), which means the company is eligible to supply the police with vehicles.
Having a place in the CCS Framework, which is issued every 4 years by the UK Government's Cabinet Office, will allow the supply of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles to the police, emergency services, local and central government.
There is already strong interest from the services in both Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, which fit their ‘Performance and Armed Response’ criteria.
Previously excluded from supplying vehicles in the last framework due to the model line-up, the UK NSC Public Sector Sales Team has worked hard to support the emergency services in procurement, modification and maintenance.
The strategy, warmly welcomed by the National Association of Police Fleet Managers (NAPFM), includes tailored and personalised support through the Accredited Fleet Modifier Programme.
This gives protection around our product Certificate of Conformity and defines our warranty liability. It also ensures modifiers are competent and have access to the company’s technical support systems.
There is also the Public Sector Workshop Programme, where police workshops that choose to opt in, can receive technician training and access to our support systems. It will help reduce vehicle down time as the routine servicing and maintenance schedules can be carried out in-house without the need to strip the police equipment out first.
Putting this extensive package together took a lot of work, and involved input from a number of other teams alongside the UK NSC, including colleagues from aftersales, technical, engineering, parts, training, experiential and legal. The AA will be supporting our operational vehicles which further demonstrates Jaguar Land Rover as a dependable partner.
The hope is to see our vehicles in Emergency Service Operational Duties from March 2019.
