Jaguar Land Rover will be the Presenting Partner of the fifth Invictus Games hosted in The Hague next year.
The celebration event in Zuiderpark marked exactly one year until the Games, where more than 500 competitors from 19 nations will compete in a series of adaptive sports.
The Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge will be the first event once again, with those competing being among the first people in the world to drive the new Defender.
Prof. Dr. Ralf Speth, Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer, said: “Everyone at Jaguar Land Rover is hugely passionate about the Invictus Games. We are delighted to continue as Presenting Partner for 2020.
“Having been to the US, Canada and Australia, we are excited to welcome this inspirational event back to Europe. I am so proud the competitors will be among the first people in the world to drive the new Defender when they compete in the Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge.”
Also in attendance at the event was HRH The Duke of Sussex, who is Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation. Among meeting organisers and potential competitors, he also got the opportunity to view a prototype version of the new Defender ahead of its launch later this year.
The Duke also experienced Jaguar Land Rover’s prototype Mobility Door system, which opens and closes the car door with power assistance, and doesn’t require the occupant to reach and pull the door once seated.
Jaguar Land Rover has been Presenting Partner since the inaugural London Games in 2014.
