Jaguar Land Rover’s graduate electric racing team continues tilt for title
Jaguar Land Rover’s graduate electric team, Driven, has taken its second win of the season as the race for the Greenpower F24+ title heats up.
The team took to the Dunsfold Aerodrome, known as the Top
Gear Track, aware that another victory would put them on level-pegging with its
Starting on the front row of the grid thanks to the team’s
strong second place last season and topping the fastest runs in morning practice
put everyone in good spirits ahead of the race.
Making a fast start thanks to the team’s ‘launch mode’, the Jaguar
Land Rover ZEV car took the lead accelerating away from the field. But for a
red flag incident Driven would of kept building on their lead.
At the restart, Jaguar Land Rover’s graduates continued
where they left off leading the field, but this time with closest rivals
Renishaw on their heels. A stroke of good fortune saw their closest challenger
pick up a puncture and as a result miss out on a podium, allowing driver Tom
Plester to concentrate on finishing first and claiming the team’s second
victory of the season.
The win puts Driven in a strong position to fight for the
championship title with two races to go.
