Panasonic Jaguar Racing driver James Calado made a pit stop at Castle Bromwich earlier this week before the team flies out to Diriyah in Saudi Arabia for the opening race of the ABB FIA Formula E season next weekend.
After arriving at the plant, James was given a guided tour of the Sport Car Facility, home of Jaguar F-TYPE production. Along the way he met a number of colleagues and spent time chatting and signing autographs.
“I’m truly astounded by the hard work that goes into making these road cars and it’s great to meet all the guys working here,” said James. “It’s incredible to see how much organisation and passion goes into making these cars.
“A big thank you to everyone I met at Castle Bromwich for their support, thank you again for the tour of the facility and hopefully I’ll be back here in the future to see the new electric vehicles being built here at the plant.”
After the tour James headed back to R Block where he was greeted by more Castle Bromwich employees eager to meet him and ask questions about the upcoming race season that starts next week in Saudi Arabia.
With the announcement earlier in the year that Castle Bromwich will become the home of three new electric vehicles, there is more than a passing interest in the expertise that Panasonic Jaguar Racing are pioneering for future use in our vehicles.
Jaguar Land Rover’s ‘Race to Road’ approach means that the highly competitive environment of international motorsport that James and the team compete within forms part of the development ground for technologies that will be used within the cars headed for Castle Bromwich.
