Congratulations to our very own Halewood heroine, Hema Mistry, who took part in Saturday’s Color Obstacle Rush, in London – raising with her friends and family a whopping £1,749 for Breast Cancer Now!
Hema, who works in Case Management, shares with Team Talk why she decided to put on her trainers and pound the pavements for this fantastic cause: “We chose Breast Cancer Now because all of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer and recently one of my sisters-in-law’s close friends has been diagnosed with it.
“Watching people so close to us go through treatment and seeing their resilience and perseverance to take on this disease inspired us to do something positive to make a difference.
“The money we raised will be used to help fund more research for the charity and we are over the moon that we have more than tripled our initial fundraising target."
Hema added: “I am so thankful for the support I have received from my colleagues at Halewood, who have been donating and wishing me good luck. It is motivating to see the sense of community here at the plant, you feel supported in everything you do, even outside of work.”
