This month we met up with Tony and Judith Firth, our latest Halewood VIP Customers. Tony and Judith from just north of Newcastle recently purchased a Discovery Sport SE TECH in Byron Blue and travelled down to Halewood to see the car being built.
So Tony and Judith do you have any other cars in the family? Tony: “Oh yes. Are you ready for the list?... We have a blue Jaguar XK, a beautiful white Jaguar E-Type, a Lotus Elise, which does not come out of the garage very often, a Suzuki, which does all the running around and we have our Land Rover Freelander 2.”
Tony and Judith have had their Firenze Red Freelander for five years and have decided it is time to swap it for a new Discovery Sport before their local retailer in Ripon, who they have known for many years retires later this year. Tony said: “We have a great relationship and I promised him a few years ago that I would come and buy a new Land Rover from him before he retired. He called me earlier this year to let me know he would soon be hanging up his sales suit so I drove over and we sorted out a deal.”
So the Firth family are not new to Land Rover. In fact they have quite a history with us. “We have owned Land Rovers since 1991. We will wave goodbye to our Freelander which is the second one we have had. Before that we have owned a Range Rover, a Discovery, 1, 2 and 4, we really like the brand and we have always supported British industry. ”
And what do Tony and Judith like most about their new car… Judith was first to answer: “Well we need a car that can pull our caravan.” “It’s a double axle.” Chipped in Tony. “We were on holiday in it once when the rain came down and all the holiday-makers were bogged down in this really muddy field. Everyone, except us, needed the farm tractor to help get them out. Thanks to our Land Rover, and a bit of LRE off-road training, our Land Rover pulled us right out and on our way home. It felt good.”
When the new Discovery Sport arrives Tony and Judith plan a trip in the Caravan. “We will be hooking up the caravan to the new Discovery Sport this summer and we will be heading to Scotland. Just past Aberdeen.”
Best wishes to Tony and Judith for a lovely holiday with their new Halewood Discovery Sport.
