Land Rover's Kim Palmer wins prestigious President's Award

While Jaguar dominated at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards, it was Land Rover's UK PR Manager Kim Palmer who won the most prestigious title on the night.
The President’s Award is traditionally given to a company or person who provides great service to the Association of Scottish Motor Writers, but President John Murdoch decided this year to recognise someone who helped support a cause that has greatly benefited the people of Scotland.
Kim won the award for helping the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance service (SCAA) with its operations and fundraising by arranging the loan of a fully-livered up Land Rover Discovery.
John said: “Last year after the event Kim came to us and said he would like to do something for Scotland in return for the award Jaguar Land Rover had received. As it turned out our chosen charity SCAA was badly in need of a vehicle to assist with its work.
“The support of Kim and Land Rover over the past year was so important because it enabled volunteers from the charity to travel the length and breadth of the country to generate funds to keep the helicopter flying.”
Kim said he was shocked to be recognised and was just keen to give something back to the Scottish people after the Land Rover Discovery won the 2017 Car of the Year award. He added:
“I am glad the Discovery has been supporting vital fund raising throughout the past year which ultimately has been saving lives across Scotland. I feel honoured and my thanks go to the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers for the recognition.”
