In 2019, Jaguar Land Rover is set to open a new technical engineering office in Budapest, Hungary.
The new location will be the home to a team of engineers, who will work alongside the company’s supply chain to support the launch of new vehicles, joining established engineering hubs in the UK, Republic of Ireland, China and North America.
Nick Rogers, Executive Director of Product Engineering at Jaguar Land Rover, said that Hungary has a strong track record in automotive engineering and the decision was made to ensure a closer working relationship with our suppliers in Eastern and Central Europe. He added:
“The team in Budapest will complement the suppliers and supplier technical assistance that we already have in the region, as well as our team in the UK.”
Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, said the announcement marks a new chapter for the Hungarian automotive industry as the country welcomes Jaguar Land Rover. He adds:
“The decision of the UK’s largest automotive manufacturer to open a technical engineering office in Budapest reaffirms our foreign direct investment strategy and in particular our specific focus on high quality automotive-related growth.”
