After months of work, the Slovakia TIC teams met together in the JLR Training Academy in Nitra, for the Slovak TIC regional finals. Ten teams from Paint, Trim & Final, Body in White, Launch/Quality, HR and Business Excellence all presented their ideas in front of the jury, consisting of six senior managers.
The purpose of the regional finals was to choose a winner for the global TIC conference, hosted later this year in Nitra, bringing together Jaguar Land Rover TIC teams from accross the globe. As well as a passion to win the competition, the regional final highlighted a shared collaborative spirit and passion to deliver great ideas. Russ Leslie, Operational Director of our Nitra Plant, commended the teams on their positive approach, drive for continuous improvement and implementation of our Customer first behaviours.
After a fantastic day of preentations, the winner of the Slovak Regional TIC conference was announced: S.O.R.T., a team from the Quality department who's project focussed on improving efficiency through SWEEP production performance. They will join the other TIC finalists next month for the global TIC final.
What is TIC?
TIC is a voluntary programme where a team of up to five people work together using a standardised 10-step process of problem solving to implement an improvement theme in their workplace. Once the 10 steps have been completed over a period of months, the TIC Circle present their theme in 12 minutes at a Local Plant Convention against other competing Circles. A select few will then be put forward to a Regional Convention where the overall winning Circles present their themes at the Global Convention.
TIC Self Development Journey
The primary purpose of TIC is to provide you with a real opportunity to improve and develop yourselves. Along the way, you will create friendships, innovate, add value and realise your potential.
