Land Rover Classic has introduced a range of upgrades to give older Defenders a new lease of life.
Inspired by the Works V8, the Upgrade Kits will allow owners of 90 and 110 derivatives built between 1994 and 2016 to update their vehicle with a selection of exterior, dynamic and performance enhancements.
“Extending the range of fully engineered, tested and approved upgrades offered by Land Rover Classic underlines our commitment to supporting existing Defender owners, as we look forward to the new Defender’s world premiere later this year.”
Upgrades start with diamond-turned 18-inch Sawtooth alloy wheels that can be fitted to vehicles built from 1994.
The Defender Suspension kit, available for 2007 models onwards, includes the Sawtooth alloy and consists of uniquely-tuned suspension, revised coil spring rates, dampers, anti-roll bars, links and bushes, which improves the on-road comfort and dynamics. While the handling upgrade adds Works V8 specification brake discs, pads and calipers to the package.
The final option is the most comprehensive, and is only available on vehicles built from 2012 and fitted with a 2.2-litre TDCi engine. The Defender Classic Works Upgrade Kit includes the other enhancements plus a set of performance-rated tyres and an engine upgrade which increases the output to 162PS and 463Nm of torque.
The kit is only available to purchase and be fitted at Land Rover Classic’s facilities in Coventry and Essen. It also includes bespoke badging, an owner’s certificate, a health check and a tour of the workshop.
