On Friday 25th and Saturday 26th October over 1,000 colleagues celebrated achieving long service with Jaguar Land Rover. Colleagues who had achieved 25, 40 and 50 years’ service since 2017 were joined by their guests to enjoy an evening of celebrations, including an ‘Electric Dreams’ show.
The event was hosted by Prof Sir Ralf Speth and Grant McPherson, opening the evening by recognising the significant service of employees and how they have contributed towards the achievements of the company during their long service. In the opening speech Prof Sir Ralf Speth said “Business is people. People form our business. Individuals have always made a special difference at Jaguar Land Rover and I thank you for the contributions you have made”.
With over 2,200 people attending the event held at the Ricoh Arena this was the biggest long service celebration. The employees represented all UK locations and had an enormous 29,815 years’ service collectively.
A 40 year service CB employee said “A memorable evening with exceptional attention to detail . It made me feel proud to work for the company and appreciated."
A Halewood employee said “The whole evening was a fantastic experience and was very well organised. The highlight of the night being the entertainment which was world class and left some of our guests blown away by the quality of it. Employees on our table had over 200 years’ service between them and it was really interesting listening to the guys reminiscing by gone years and who they recognised on the night.”
Sarah Herd, celebrating 25 years service, said “Both my husband and I had a wonderful time - it was such a great celebration. The entertainment was brilliant (I particularly liked that they sang a Take That song as part of their set!) and the theme of 'Electric Dreams' was very cleverly chosen given our Destination Zero vision. I know there is a massive amount of hard work that goes into delivering this event, thanks to the organisers and the people who gave up their evenings to host tables too.”
