On Wednesday, a group of students from Plantation Primary School visited the plant. The choir, which comprises of young people aged 7-10, visited the plant as part of a community tour which also includes Liverpool Airport, Royal Liverpool Hospital and a local retirement home.
Ben Palmer, Performing Arts Leader at Plantation Primary School commented: “Performing at Jaguar Land Rover is a major highlight for our choir and the students really enjoy performing to the workforce. Some of the students’ parents, uncles and grandparents work at Halewood and they enjoyed learning about how cars are made. Everyone was very generous and we collected £100 in donations for the school choir. Thank you!”
As well as performing in Trim and Final, the choir got up close and personal with a vehicle in offtrack and all managed to squeeze in for a cosy sing-song. They then headed to Escort Restaurant to entertain employees during their Christmas meals.
Jessica, 10, said: “Today has been amazing! I really enjoyed singing and seeing the factory. It was really cool to be filmed too.”
Sadie, 10, added: “I really enjoyed sitting inside the Land Rover and singing, it was just like Carpool Karaoke!”
Special thanks to the OCS team for supporting the visit.
