Last month, our Halewood Foodbank Takeover generated over 6000 food items for Knowsley Foodbank, which helped to feed hundreds of families in Merseyside over the Christmas holidays.
As a plant, Halewood has made a commitment to continue to support Knowsley Foodbank throughout 2021 and has a dedicated collection point set up in the Admin People’s Centre, so employees can make donations all year round.
Last week, On Track spoke with Lisa Armstrong, Food Team Leader at Knowsley Foodbank, who had the following message to share with our employees: “We were so grateful to everyone at Halewood for the incredible donations they made to our charity last month which made a huge difference to so many people- thank you.
“Sadly January is proving to be another difficult time for us and we have seen calls to our Knowsley Food Support Line rocket in the last few weeks, as our local communities come to grips with a third national lockdown.
“With people self-isolating or unable to work, they desperately need to access our services for food and other essential items.
“Your support means so much to us, so if you are able to and can donate a few additional items this month- it would really help us. Every packet and tin makes a difference and we are so thankful for everything Halewood has done and continues to do for our charity.”
Please remember there is a permanent collection point for Knowsley Food Bank in our Admin People Centre, however, if you would like to run a collection in your area, please email Jay Round here who can offer guidance on how you can safely do this.
Your safety is our number one priority. In order for you to donate safely, please adhere to the JLR and Government guidelines. You must remain socially distanced from other colleagues when making your donations and wear appropriate PPE.
