Last month we saw an overwhelming amount of support for Pride from associates in Itatiaia, Brazil. JLR’s LGBT network has gone worldwide with a clear message that diversity and inclusion spans international borders.
Plant Director, Joao Mattosinho, has recently taken up the
mantle of Pride Ambassador for associates based at Itatiaia. His first action
in this new role was to organise an event purely in support of Pride.
“We had great participation for such a small site," said Joao. “It was great to see so many associates volunteering to be a part of this event.” Associates from across the Brazil plant took time out of their day to support diversity and inclusion.
Joao plans to take this further with additional events and ongoing communications, to drive awareness and support for diversity and inclusion in Itatiaia and the wider Jaguar Land Rover community.
As part of Jaguar Land Rover’s ongoing drive around diversity and inclusion, there are eight colleague led networks in the business.
These networks are run by colleagues for colleagues, and offer a platform for people with a passion for diversity and inclusion to share their ideas and experiences, influence leadership and network with each other. Each network has a committee, which is made of volunteers from across the business, who organise all the network’s activities including events and communications. To assist in defining their network strategy, and as a link to Jaguar Land Rover’s leadership, most of our networks have a senior sponsor who works closely with their chosen community.
Networks are open to everyone within our business, and growing and developing their membership is a priority. There are no specific requirements to join any of our networks. It may be that you have a passion for making the workplace more diverse and inclusive, or simply want to learn more. All Jaguar Land Rover colleagues are invited to participate in any of our networks.
