The Range Rover hailed as ‘the best 4x4 in the world’ by the hosts of BBC’s Top Gear will be parking up in Halewood this week.
This exceptional car will be on display in the Admin Foyer from Monday 23 January until Friday 27 January.
Halewood has a special connection to the new fifth-generation Range Rover as our factory made 10 of the blanking dies - or press tool components - for the L460 (new Range Rover) and L461 (new Range Rover Sport) programmes.
The blanking dies were used to create specific parts of the car, including the front door inners, front fenders, body sides and a number of the structural parts of its underbody – all delivered in-house within the Halewood Tool Room and Press Shop.
Trevor Leeks, Halewood Operations Director, said: “It’s fantastic that Halewood Tool Room and Press Shop have played a part in the manufacturing process of the new Range Rover (L460), and in the 60th year of Halewood, as we look back on many of our achievements, it is great to recognise one of our more recent contributions to the overall business. Throughout this year, we will be hosting a series of celebrations as we commemorate this special manufacturing milestone.”
You can watch the footage of the Top Gear episode featuring the luxury fifth generation Range Rover, on BBC iPlayer here. It will also be played on a screen alongside the car while it is in the Admin Foyer.
