It was a night to remember for one of Solihull's chefs who got an opportunity of a lifetime, as he donned his whites to cook at The BRIT Awards 2019.
Solihull top cook Mukhtar
Hassan has been catering for the masses for the more than five years at Lode
Lane, serving up crowd-pleasers such as fish and chips and chicken balti curry
to hungry colleagues.
Last week however, Mukhtar
was rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous as he sharpened his knives and
formed part of a team of chefs at the annual British music awards held at the
O2 Arena in London.
In recognition for his hard
work during his time at Solihull, catering provider – Compass, who cook for
events such as the BRITS, gave Mukhtar the chance to test his mettle alongside
some of the country’s other top chefs.
Sharing his experience, Mukhtar
said: "It was a bit surreal if I'm being honest – I was watching some
really famous faces eating the food I'd help prepare. I'm pretty sure Little
Mix loved the dessert."
