Dear colleagues, dear friends,
Today, during the Tata Motors Board meeting, I announced my intention to retire from my current role as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Land Rover at the end of my contract term, in September 2020.
Since joining in 2010, together we have developed our iconic brands, grown our corporation from a niche UK centric manufacturer to a respected, technological leading global company, always keeping our passion for the Jaguar and Land Rover families.
Today, we offer our customers the compelling combination of best British design and engineering integrity in multi-award-winning products. Just take a moment to reflect on all the changes we have made, together.
I want to say thank you for all your support and commitment that has brought our company to where it is today. I am proud and feel very honoured to have worked with so many dedicated and creative people over these 10 years. I also want to take the opportunity to thank Ratan Tata – for providing me / us the opportunity run the company. Ratan has always made the difference.
Dear team, this is not a “goodbye”, today. As highlighted, I will stay for months to come. Together we must be eager to deliver the best Q4/year-end FY19/20, to manage our turnaround with Charge, Accelerate and Ignite and to launch the best pipeline of new, innovative products we have ever had. I am counting on you to make it happen.
Mr Chandrasekaran, our Chairman, has now set up a committee that will select my successor.
I am honoured to have been offered the role of non-executive Vice Chairman of the Jaguar Land Rover plc board. I will also remain a member of the board of Tata Sons.
Personally, I am looking forward to new and exciting challenges.
Let’s deliver the best Q4.
Warm regards,
Ralf
