Team Jaguar Land Rover finished second overall at the fourth edition of the i-Mobility Rally in Germany.
Taking part in a trio of Jaguar I-PACEs, the teams took on 45 other entrants in the 150km event, where the drivers were challenged with not with posting the fastest time, but using their knowledge and nous around e-mobility to complete the rally.
Starting in Stuttgart, each competitor headed towards Weitenburg Castle before circling back to the finish line in the city. Paul-Janosch Ersing and Joris Degraeve finished first for Jaguar Land Rover just behind overall winners Team Porsche in their Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo.
The other two cars finished seventh and 28th respectively, which meant Team Jaguar Land Rover won the silver team award.
Jaguar’s first all-electric SUV was up against some of its closest mainstream rivals, including the Tesla Model S, Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 and Audi e-tron.
Speaking on the day was Jaguar brand ambassador and actor, Jürgen Vogel, who also uses an I-PACE as his everyday vehicle.
“The I-PACE is dynamic, like a sports car, but very suitable for everyday use – all emission free. To me, driving an I-PACE is e-mobility with no compromise.”
